JOKER (2019) : the rise of the most notorious character and the human behavior

I remember watching joker as I kept it on hold because of semester examination, and as soon as exams finished, I watched it and it was worth waiting for this fantastic slow burn devilish drama movie. This is a DC universe standalone movie based on joker and depicting the city of Gotham that gave birth to the joker. the movie is directed by Todd Phillips starring a very capable actor Joaquin phoenix playing the joker. Joker is available on the online streaming platform Hungama, Amazon prime video.

Joker is based on the human nature and mental health issue in people, how the small spark can lead to chaos and mess, and Turning of innocence, anger, frustration into the devil. A person keeps on doing anything that makes him satisfied even if it is a sin.

The story of the joker based on Arthur fleck who works part-time as a joker but suffocated and frustrated with his life he is having mental health issues and been into asylum once and is on regular counseling with counselors of the asylum. He is facing several issues like not being successful, the pressure of work, bad behavior of the outer world, and he’s having the medical condition of sudden uncontrollable laughing attacks that makes him laugh so loud so suddenly at any time. A night he is returning with his joker makeup on the home by subway from work with so much frustration in his mind where he sees the men trying to molest a lonely girl but then he suddenly starts laughing and seeks the attention of men they came to him and start bullying him and beating him Arthur is laid down taken beatings he takes out his pistol and shoots all of them, then he runs away and feel the satisfaction of killing instead of regret. The next day he watches the news and people calling him vigilante and symbolize him as a hero that killed the bad rich people of the society. Another day Arthur suspiciously reads a letter written by his mother for his father and he gets shocked knowing his father is Thomas Wayne, so he visits Thomas Wayne to ask why he left his mother then Thomas Wayne reveals him his mother adopted Arthur and he is her adopted child and her mother was sent to prison for abusive behavior with her child and giving him a head injury. Arthurs's mother receives an attack and taken to hospital, where the police have also come to take his statement about subway killing because he worked as a clown too. Arthur kills his mother with a pillow being in anger. He gets called by his idol comedian show and start preparing for it and in meantime, his former colleagues came to meet him and tell him about police has been searching for him, Arthur suddenly attacks the man who lent him a pistol and kills him. Arthur leaves for the show and where he is followed by police and loses them behind. He comes to the show and introduces himself as the joker and confront in the live show that he killed three men and shoots the anchor of the show and arrested by police. Meanwhile, the city Gotham is in chaos situation because Thomas Wayne is killed, with the help of the situation he escapes from the police custody.   

Todd Phillips succeeded in creating a chaotic environment of a society which is on the way of annihilation and convincingly depicted the cause of the rise of joker the agent of chaos, but I think Jason Todd adopted the idea of the joker from martin Scorsese directed movie the taxi driver.

There are many portrayals of joker in the past years where some are highly commendable and some of the forgettable performances, but Joaquin phoenix played joker with a charm of the real character of joker and made this role of his own.

जोकर लोगों में मानव स्वभाव और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य के मुद्दे पर आधारित है, कि कैसे छोटी सी चिंगारी अराजकता और गंदगी को जन्म दे सकती है और निर्दोषता, क्रोध, निराशा को शैतान में बदल देती है। एक व्यक्ति कुछ भी करता रहता है जो उसे पाप होने पर भी संतुष्ट करता है।
